How do I find a good DUI lawyer?
I know that you are a DUI lawyer and I hope you will be honest with me. How do I choose the right DUI lawyer? How much experience is really necessary? What questions do I ask? When should I hire my lawyer? And finally, are there situations where it just doesn’t make sense to spend the money on a lawyer?
I know that’s a lot of questions but I hope you will answer…
Answer: I’m sure that many people ask themselves the same questions. You should get the best lawyer you can afford to represent you and do it as soon as possible, since your license may be suspended if you do not ask for a hearing within ten business days from the date of your arrest. I would not represent myself if I were to be arrested for DUI as there are things a lawyer can do for you that you can not do for yourself, and if you try to do things for yourself, remember that everything you say will be used against you. The old saying, "a person who represents himself has a fool for a client", comes to mind and it is true.

I got a dui in Cherokee County with a .08 content. I have had a DUI in Georgia previously but more than 7 years ago. I hired an attorney off the internet who told me he could get it reduced or moved to another county – he has been insulting and demeaning to me since I sent him the 4 grand for representation. Now I was told by his assistant that the case has been Bound Over to Cherokee County. I dont want to use this guy for trial – can I have my files sent to you , or another attorney for the trial itself. I have a home in kansas And Missouri and do not live in Georgia,
A source for good referrals are courtroom personnel and prosecutors, along with other attorneys and people who have been arrested for DUI. These people usually have first hand knowledge about the best lawyers as they have seen them in action, along with the worst I might say. Otherwise, you can use the internet or bar referral services to get the names of lawyers who handle these kind of cases. Before you hire one, talk to several and pick the one with whom you communicate the best and go from there. Good luck.

I got pulled over for speeding i was told by officer but was only going 53 in a 45mph and i was told by the officer that my car smelled of alcohol and i told him that was bizarre since i had just got in it less then 10 min. before getting pulled over. He asked me to blow and i did and it was a 0.04 and he still arrested for a DUI less safe. I had went to a friends birthday party and had one margarita and had no reason to believe i could not drive. This cop saw my little convertible sports car and i think targeted me. I was not speeding and he did not even charge me for speeding. I just dont understand this “less safe” DUI stuff and feel i was done very wrong and was falsely arrested. Do you think the judge may drop the dui since i was under the legal limit?
